A Calling Behind the Camera: My Heart for Push Play Photography
I don’t have the statistics to prove it, but I truly believe it’s rare to find a career that feels like a calling. A purpose that goes deeper than a paycheck — something that feels heaven-sent. For me, photography has become exactly that.
Since 2011, I’ve been blessed to live out this journey — growing, learning, and meeting the most incredible people along the way. Whether you’ve been with me since the very beginning or just stumbled upon Push Play Photography recently, I want to say thank you. From the bottom of my heart.
When I was younger, I always knew I wanted to help people. I thought that might look like a career in medicine, sign language interpreting, or communications. I never imagined that photography could be a way to help.
But now, as a mom, I see it clearly.
I see how quickly the days blur together and how sacred those in-between moments are — the ones we often overlook until they’re gone. The way a child’s squishy cheeks once fit perfectly into your hands. The way laughter filled a room that now sits quiet. The way a single image can take you right back to that moment.
Photography, I’ve come to realize, does help people. It helps us pause. It helps us remember. It helps us see the beauty God placed within us — sometimes even when we’ve forgotten it ourselves.
Every time I pick up my camera, I feel God guiding me — teaching me which buttons to press, what light to chase, and how to connect in ways that make people truly see themselves. It’s not something I take lightly. This job may not look “life-saving” in the traditional sense, but I know that God has a purpose for me right here — in the laughter, the tears, and the little glimpses of eternity I get to capture.
To all of you who have supported me — the families who come back year after year, the clients who’ve turned into friends, and the new faces who trust me with their stories — thank you. You are the reason I get to live out this calling.
It’s one thing to do what you love.
It’s another to do it for people who see your heart and value your craft.
So here’s to the memories we’ve already made, and the ones still to come.
My heart is so full — and my gratitude runs deep.
